LiveRhythms
About LiveRhythms
LiveRhythms are a group of 4 musicians who, in conjunction with a roster of trained teachers, facilitate the movement meditation of Gabrielle Roth’s Five Rhythms
Cello, kora, violin, flute, saxophone, clarinet, voice and plenty of percussion are all woven together with the dancer’s movements in a co-creation that journeys through the wide and wild dynamic range of sound and human emotion
The music is improvised, drawing on relationships built through years of playing together and the teachers skilfully integrate the dance into a coherent whole. A typical class lasts 75-80 minutes and, depending on time and the venue, all sit together at the end to share something of their experience
LiveRhythms play monthly in Kew, south west London, UK
